Today, the Kansas City Symphony Alliance (KCSA) opened the doors to the 44th Symphony Designers’ Showhouse. The KCSA sponsors the tour each year to raise money for the KC Symphony and Youth Programs. In fact, it’s the longest-running continuous Showhouse fundraising project in the country!
Rebecca Emley, The Room Tailor, is the talented designer who stages our listings and we wanted to share a little sneak peek in the two rooms she designed for the Showhouse this year.
This is Rebecca’s second turn at participating in the charitable project donating her time, resources and expertise. This year, she decided to submit a proposal for the guest room and adjoining bath and won the opportunity to bring her design to life.
Prairiebrooke Art Gallery is a sponsor of the Showhouse and provided the two beautiful pictures shown here, as well as the serene seascape image bedside.
Rebecca selected the gorgeous embroidered wallpaper from the Kenneth James line and provided by Brewster Home Fashions. Here’s a detail shot of the wallpaper but you really need to see it in person. It is exquisite!
Rebecca repurposed an old dresser for the bathroom’s vanity. The countertop, made from seashells, and the sink, recycled glass, are from Master Marble Inc. in Holden, MO.
Here’s a detail shot of the Kohler fixture and the stunning glass tile backsplash.
That concludes our little preview of Rebecca’s space. We think she did a fabulous job! To see more of her rooms, as well as the rest of the amazing spaces created by area designers, be sure to check out this year’s event. The home is located at 1032 West 55th Street, Kansas City, MO and the tour runs from April 25 to May 19, 2013 (closed Mondays). Visit Showhouse.org for ticket information and details.
